Nashville Quicky

Nashville, Tennessee, in the summertime is a symphony of vibrant colors and sounds, a harmonious fusion of country charm and urban energy. A weekend spent in Music City during this season is a sensory delight, an eloquent ode to the soul of the South. I’ll admit this weekend was a tad bit HOT, but Nashville was a whole vibe.

It all started with the drive through the beautiful lush green mountains and a stop at Buc-ee’s because my guys had never been, hmmmm. Let’s just say it was sensory overload at first but they quickly adjusted and walked out with plenty of goodies. We arrived in Nashville and explored before taking in a game at Vanderbilt University (Vandy) where the crowd eagerly cheered for their home team.

Afterwards, we found our way to the vibrant nightlife full of music beckoning you into the honky-tonks, cowboy boots, and a plethora of savory goodness to indulge ones tastebuds. The air carried a sweet, smoky fragrance, a testament to the city’s rich barbecue heritage. We could all but taste the slow-cooked ribs and pulled pork as we strolled down Broadway, where neon signs flicker to life like fireflies on a sultry southern night. With so many choices it got a little overwhelming for me and my guys so we decided to try Velvet Taco, which was closer to our hotel, and it lived up to the hype; we’ll definitely be back and that’s a fact. With our bellies full we decided to turn in for the night in anticipation of an early start the next morning.

Unfortunately, our trip was cut short because my guys had to get back due to a schedule change…bummer. Needless to say we took advantage of the morning and settled on the Frothy Monkey for breakfast. We decided on ham and cheese croissants and a toasted bagel, my guys grabbed a couple hot chocolates and I had the Havana latte; let’s just say condensed milk and deliciousness. It was perfect because we had to seize the morning due to the schedule change.

Before leaving we took in a bit more of Nashville and decided we’d return during the fall season. In conclusion we realized that Nashville isn’t just a city; it’s a tapestry of culture, music, and hospitality. It’s a place where the eloquence of summer can be found in every note, every bite, and every smile from the warm-hearted locals. Our time was short but nothing short of sweet.

FYI: I’ll have a more in-depth post in the fall since we had to skedaddle…ENJOY!
